openUse of WMG page headers Live Action TV
Doing a larger clean-up of Doctor Who recaps, and have noticed how the entire Series 1, the Fourteenth Doctor episodes, and the first episode of Series 11 have WMG headers to the entire series of episodes, while the rest of the show doesn’t. I’ve seen WMG headers used for show recaps like Firefly’s, but the inconsistency is obvious.
Personally, I’d say go all in or all out on the WMG headings, but I wanted to ask any Tropers interested.
Edited by CanuckMcDuck1resolved American Horror Story: 1984 Fridge page "blanked" Live Action TV
I just noticed that the Fridge page for American Horror Story: 1984 was erased by Lukito 2014 and the text replaced with "I "deleted" the fridge section so you don't have to read the s&!ty theory that I've written. -Lukito 2014". I assume this should be either removed or reverted?
Edited by cannen144openTroping with an Agenda Live Action TV
Troper skj edited the page for The Falcon And The Winter Soldier complaining about language being too sympathetic to characters who are murderous terrorists, despite the series objectively framing the violence of Walker's attack as excessive in context.
openReality TV Scrappy Live Action TV
This might be a stupid question, but I was unable to find it actually answered for sure anywhere.
I see that when using The Scrappy, the bottom of the page says No Real Life Examples, Please!. Does this extend to reality TV as well? As in, the YMMV pages of reality TV shows should NOT have any form of The Scrappy (including Rescued from the Scrappy Heap) listed on the page at all? (As in using contestants or participants of the show as examples).
I ask because recently someone deleted all examples and text of The Scrappy and Rescued from the Scrappy Heap from the YMMV page of Hell's Kitchen (quite a lot, since it was an accumulation of 17 seasons worth). If this edit is valid and correct, then I assume there are probably many other reality shows that require this clean-up on their YMMV pages as well.
Again, sorry if a stupid question, just wanted confirmation and the red or green light to clean up other reality TV YMMV pages. Thanks!
resolved Referenced By... shows without a page Live Action TV
Siberia 82 deleted some entries from ReferencedBy.Live Action TV with the edit reason "This section is ONLY for "Shows without a page" (as shown by the subtitle). The ones I removed have their own Trivia pages, and therefore they don't belong here." I assumed that "Shows without a page" just meant shows without their own Referenced by... page, and that copying over examples from shows' Trivia pages was crosswicking, which we're supposed to do. Which of us is right?
openAdding tropes and examples to a page Live Action TV
Hello guys. Today I added another trope on the characters page of a Live Action show. This is my first time editing a page. When I finished editing and clicked on "safe", the trope then was added to the page but it did not turn blue and one cannot click on it. I wanted to asked how I can fix that? I made sure that I used an existing trope. Thanks a lot in advance and kind regards.
openWhat do you do with a page mostly plagiarized? Live Action TV
I’m doing a plagiarism clean-up of Doctor Who’s trivia pages. I got tipped off a while ago that almost every page of the first Three doctors’ pages has examples (mostly under What Could Have Been) that have been plagiarized from either the show’s wiki or this comprehensive website (which the wiki itself has cribbed from).
For example, several trivia examples from the episode “An Unearthly Child” (the very 1st episode of the series) had been plagiarized from it’s wiki article’s story notes.
- The first school scene was re-written to reduce the tension between Barbara and Ian. In the original script, Ian says, "When I've had a bad day, I come in here [the staff room], and I want to smash all the windows". Barbara retorts, "It hasn't been a bad day", and Ian remarks, "You're just naturally like that?" Barbara replies, "I hope not. I've had another kind of day. A very puzzling kind of day".
- Ian and Barbara's relationship was much more romantic in the original script.
- In the original script, the "PRIVATE" notice at the junkyard was originally supposed to appear significantly newer than the lettering on the gates. The junkyard was also supposed to contain "a broken-down old shed".
And while doing cleanup the trivia page for the episode “The Romans” and it is seeping with plagiarism, up to and including Wikipedia.
So how should I go forward with this? I’ve been editing previous pages to remove plagiarism, but this particular page is compromised with it.
Edited by CanuckMcDuck1openThe Penthouse: Joo Seok-Kyeong Live Action TV
I've started watching Penthouse and I wanted to talk about one trope which would fit Joo Seok-Kyeong well,
Do you think she would count as a Like Father, Like Daughter trope because much like her father the villain Joo Dan Tae she would also bully, abuse and manipulate others (which in turn was because of Dan-Tae abusing her and her brother) And this just a discussion.

Has anyone made the page for the 2023 Superhero Korean series Moving yet?
openUser keeps removing my entries about Brooke in the One Tree Hill Heartwarming page for no reason Live Action TV
user Tv Addicted has removed entries I made about Brooke on the One Tree Hill Heartwarming page for no reason twice now, after I restored them for the first time the user kept one entry but removed another one with no explanation. Judging from all of the edits they made to the shows YMMV page praising the Leyton romance while bashing the Brucas romance it seems like this user genuinely has an issue with anything that gives praise to Brooke. So if someone could please tell them to knock it off and leave my entries alone that would be much appreciated.
resolved I need help with this forum. Live Action TV
So this op thinks this TV show should be in a film forum. I mean this one. I tried to speak with the op but no reply and I double post so that other people decide whether this forum should stay or not. So what to do with it?
Edited by BubblepigopenSeries / The Guest Live Action TV
There is a South Korean series called 'The Guest' (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/TheGuest) and an American film with the same title (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Film/TheGuest) but they aren't related at all. On the page for the series there is a Film, Trivia, WMG and YMMV that all belong to the film, not the series. How do you remove them?
openWeird link inserted into work description Live Action TV
Max Headroom has its description section interrupted partway through with a YouTube link leading to footage of the 1987 TV signal hijacking incident. I understand why it's there, it's inserted into the part talking about the actual character interrupting segments on the network. The YouTube video isn't from the show though, and while it's an interesting piece of trivia, I'm skeptical that it adds value to the page. Can the links be removed?
Edited by ZarinaopenAdding a Headscratcher? Post a new Discussion? Live Action TV
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/Bodies2023 I have a Headscratcher … can one suggest a new one? I just joined, have read for years …
I posted a Discussion topic but don’t know if I did it right nor where to see Discussion topics.
openDoctor Who recap page glitch Live Action TV
When logged out, I can only see two tropes on Doctor Who 60th AS "The Star Beast": Retraux and Rearrange the Song. No intro paragraph, no image, no other tropes. Logged in, I can see the whole thing. Does anyone know what's causing this? I can replicate it in Chrome and Edge.
Edited by thelivingtoadopenDropped a Bridge on Him example Live Action TV
A long while ago I added this example to Recap.Doctor Who S 27 E 13 The Parting Of The Ways:
- Dropped a Bridge on Him: Not to anywhere near the extent of say, the Sixth Doctor's death-by-falling-over or the Eighth Doctor's regeneration not (at the time) being explained at all, but the fact that Rose was able to store the vortex energy for several minutes and only got a headache as a result, while the Doctor is killed by just storing it for a few seconds raised more than a few eyebrows.
Another troper later added this underneath the entry:
- Considering that Rose was able to bring Jack back to life, the Doctor might have been able to heal Rose, but couldn't heal himself.
This resulted in a third troper deleting the entire example with "Repair, Don't Respond" in the edit reason. However, would I be right in thinking that the second-level bullet point was speculative troping, and that the right course of action would have been to just delete that rather than nuking the whole example?
Looking back on it I'm not very happy with how I worded the example in the first place anyway, but just so I'm not engaging in a (very slow-motion) edit war, would I be okay to put the example back in as this:
- Dropped a Bridge on Him: The Doctor's dying as a result of holding the vortex energy in his body for roughly five seconds before he returns it to the TARDIS was seen by some fans as an abrupt and poorly-explained reason for his having to regenerate, especially since it comes right after Rose kept the same energy in her body for several minutes of screentime, while using it to wipe out the Daleks and resurrect Jack.
Characters. One Tree Hill Main Characters has, over the last two months, become incredibly bloated with overuse of natter and unnecessary details across the page. On top of that, the page is now using a lot of misinformation that is never actually stated in the show.
What is the best way to go about dealing with this?
